EYES & EARS OPEN

This is to warn everyone to be extra vigilant as people are take advantage of the chaos of Corona. Whilst  most residents could be working from home, or taking leave or unpaid leave, or have unfortunately been let go they will probably keeping to the laws and following medical guidelines.

HOWEVER …

THERE ARE SOME

WHO WILL NOT!

IF YOU SEE OR SUFFER ANY CRIME THEN PLEASE REPORT IT.

Over the past week we had e been made aware of the following events:

Burglary of jewellery, etc. on Wellesley Avenue over the weekend while owner was out.

House burgled while residents were asleep in the house on Goldhawk Road. Car keys, computer, and other items removed from house and car taken. Fortunately the Police have since found the car.

Car stolen from kerbside directly outside house on Greenside Road. Car was later recovered by the Police damaged and a person detained but some of the contents of the were missing.

Robbery from a car in Percy Road. Someone noted that their car door was open. On inspection it had been entered and some items had stolen.

A car window was smashed in on Bassein Park Road last week however nothing was taken as the owner always removes contents when leaving car.

An old iPad mini and some perfume taken from a glove box early last week when the car was parked in Greenside Rd. No signs of an external break-in so possibly may have mistakenly left it car unlocked.

Someone testing for open car door handlea was chased off while trying car door handles on Greenside Road, so remember to double check your locks. Claimed he was just wiping his hands!  Maybe a regular, but he didn't try all the cars.

In the Askew ward a resident had a parcel delivered on their doorstep (social distancing) on 3rd April at 6:13 but DHL didn’t ring the doorbell. The parcel wasn’t there when they realised. They suspect it to have been stolen.

A message from Hammersmith & Fulham Council,

Protect yourself against coronavirus scammers Sadly, our Tradings Standards team is hearing reports from other boroughs that some people are using the coronavirus outbreak as an opportunity to scam unsuspecting residents.

We've not had any reports in H&F yet, but if you familiarise yourself with the scams and remain vigilant, you've got the best chance to protect yourself, friends and loved ones.
