2024-0515 - Turning Point's New Campaign

Dear All

The following message has been received from Carol Fregiste-Thomas, Community safety officer (North), Hammersmith & Fulham Council ...

TURNING POINT'S new campaign on drugs and alcohol support

Good afternoon all,

Turning Point has launched a new campaign urging young women in the borough to utilise professional help to cut down on drug and alcohol consumption. Please spread the word to the local businesses and communities you work with.

The campaign focusses on women in their mid-20s to late 30s with alcohol and non-opiate concerns, poor self-esteem, low mental and physical health, and lack of a support network, who have not engaged with Turning Point before. It promotes aspects of the service that encourage women to make contact (e.g. group programme on surviving emotions, fitness and leisure, peer mentoring and LGBT support).

The campaign includes:

  • Social media - Facebook, Instagram, tailored content on Turning Point website, blogs and personal stories.
  • Awareness days to promote themes/activities (e.g. April - stress awareness month, May - national walking month and June - Pride month).
  • June will see the campaign taken outside: Hammersmith Street Fest - 1 June; North End Road Summer Fest - 22 June; London Pride – 29 June.
Click on the links below to find out more:Running from April to June, the campaign is part of a year-long drug/alcohol support programme that is trying to get more people to make contact with Turning Point's drug and alcohol services.
Please spread the word by sharing the campaign with the local businesses and communities you work with.
