CONINGHAM WARD POLICE PANEL MEETING
Thursday 16th April 2026 at 6:15pm

WELCOME:
The Chairman welcomed all to the Ward Police Panel & thanked the Hammersmith Academy for the use of their facilities. The previous meeting was on 13rd January 2026.
 
  • THE POLICE TEAM:
  • Chief Insp. Steph DAY & Insp. Ehab AL-HASHIMI for the H&F wards
  • Sgt. Sam HARDING (covers Coningham, Grove, Ravenscourt), 
  • Dedicated Ward Officers (DWO):

  • PURPOSE OF MEETING: 
    • Strengthen Police community relations 
    • Chance for the community to voice their concerns.
    • Discuss strategies in reducing crime, and,
    • Determine Ward priorities for the next quarter.
 
NOTE - Police cannot be on every street as crimes take place, but the residents can. The importance of reporting crime must be emphasised as this allows the police to gather intelligence on crime types & trends.
 
  • WARD PRIORITIES : 
o   Next quarter priorities remain as:
§  Drug related Anti-Social Behaviour (ASB)
§  Shoplifting,
§  Theft from, or of, vehicles.
 
·       ACTIVITY UPDATE 
  • Section 23 Misuse of Drugs Act Warrant executed on St Stephens Avenue & Closure Order to follow.
  • Theft from Motor Vehicle – identified suspects, investigation still ongoing however all items returned to victims.
  • 6 Wanted offenders arrested covering:
    • Public Order
    • Prolific Shoplifter (26 shoplifting offences)
    • Prolific Shoplifter (31 shoplifting offences)
    • Breach of Criminal Behaviour Order
    • Knife point robbery
    • Prolific Burglary / shoplifter (22 offences)
    • Identification of 9 wanted offenders for multiple offences.
 
·       MEETING TOPICS
  • Abstraction rate is very high. Abstractions cover to Mental Health Assessments (MHA), Buckingham Palace Guard Change (BPGC), Live Facial Recognition (LFR) & also existing response team backfilling & central London demonstrations. This despite the Safer Neighbourhood Team remit increasing.

  • Ride Along. Go out with a patrol car & see what occurs.

  • Q & A or ISSUES:
    • Parcels continue to be stolen from doorsteps.
    • Several mental health assessments are completed by local Police.
    • The Boscombe Road KFC has gone & crime has dropped significantly in the area. Residents are fighting for new leaseholder to not be a similar business. Councillors stated that the licencing is linked to the site, not to the company. The current licence runs for six months. Could a comparison list of crimes before & after help?
    • Fake number plates on cars growing problem. What can be done?
    • Shepherds Bush Green Ward Team have similar issues of ASB & drug dealing. The worst Wards for crime in the Borough are Shepherds Bush Green & Hammersmith Broadway. Coningham is in 8th position. 
    • A PSPO (Public Space Protection Order) – From 21st Feb 2026 to 2029. Powers cover ASB, loitering, facial coverings, begging, gatherings Borough wide.
    • The LET (Law Enforcement Team) does not have the same powers or PPE as the Police.
  • POLICE CONTACTS:
  • Reporting a crime? Call 101 or 999 if urgent.
  • Crime can be reported on the police web site - www.met.police.uk Online reports are dealt with at MetCC & are usually reviewed within 30 minutes. If you have video footage of a crime please contact the police to upload the video.
  • Safer Neighbourhood Team (SNT)Coningham.SNT@Met.Police.uk but please note the mailbox is not monitored 24/7 & can’t be used to report a new crime.
  • Hammersmith & Fulham Council:
    • Law Enforcement Team (LET)LET.HF@lbhf.gov.uk or phone 0208 753 1100 option 3
    • The LET team work 24/7 & have the capability to respond to ASB incidents (but this is not an immediate response).
    • Noise nuisance/EHO: 0208 753 1081 (office hours) & 0208 748 8588 (out of hours). This can also be reported on the H&F website.
 
  • OTHER BUSINESS:
